About Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
The network was founded in the year 2000 and is strongly supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research and the Austrian Exchange Service (OeAD-GmbH).With a total of 130 member institutions in Austria, China, Mongolia, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea, the network promotes multilateral scientific cooperation, joint research projects, conferences as well as faculty and student exchange.
Eurasia-Pacific Uninet is the largest sovereign university network of its kind within Europe.
The goal of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet is to support interdisciplinary scientific exchange between its member institutions through
- scholarships for Post Docs and Ph.D. students coming to Austria
- projects
- summer schools
Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
supports:
- scientific, economic and cultural relations between Austria and the target countries
- R&D activities of multinational companies
- visiting professorships
- reciprocal acknowledgement of study degrees and programs
supplies:
- research scholarships for member institutions
- contacts between government agencies, educational institutions and companies
- intercultural expertise through intensive programs and courses
initiates:
- joint research centers
- joint schools for teaching, research and training
- development of joint curricula and double-degree programs
- research activities by means of workshops, seminars, conferences and through the exchange of scientists among member institutions
Association for the Support of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
In March 2006, the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture, together with the Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research of the Austrian Exchange Service (ÖAD), established the Association for the Support of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet.
The aims of the Association for the Support
of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet are
- to support the coordination and extension of the international network Eurasia-Pacific Uninet and its member institutions
- to support the scientific, economic and cultural relations between Austria and the target countries of the international network Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
- to support the process of internationalisation of research institutions at Austrian universities and institutes of applied sciences, within the framework of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
The board members of the association are Univ. Prof. Dr. Brigitte Winklehner, president of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet and Univ. Prof. Dr. Sigurd Höllinger, representative of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture.
