Chinese-Austrian EU Summer School 2013

Since 2002, the Chinese Studies Center in cooperation with Eurasia-Pacific Uninet, has annually organized the Chinese-Austrian EU Summer School for students from Chinese member institutions.

The summer school is designed for Chinese students who want to deepen their knowledge of Europe in general and of Austria in particular. During their stay students have the great opportunity to visit Austria (Salzburg, Vienna and Wattens) as well as European cities like Venice, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Antwerp, Bruges and Luxemburg.

Lectures are given by experts at the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe as well as at Austria’s Foreign Ministry. The program in Brussels will be organized by the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU, focusing on issues such as EU-China relations, the work of the European Parliament and the role and functioning of European institutions.Furthermore, the students will take courses at the Vienna University of Business and Economics as well as the University of Salzburg,  and the University of Vienna which aim to broaden their view of the European culture and customs.

Participants get information about Austrian history, literature, politics and law as well as economy or music. This range of courses as well as visits at the United Nations, the Musikverein Vienna or at Schloss Schönbrunn and Schloss Hellbrunn guarantee many insights as well as a great experience.
